So, you've signed up and are eager to share your photos with the world. There are a few options here.
Desktop Applications
As mentioned on the bits page, there are a few desktop applications to help you upload your photos to Flickr. Just for the sake of completeness, we shall reiterate them here.
Windows apps
- Flickr Uploadr for Windows XP.
- Flickr Uploadr for Windows 98, 2000 & ME.
- For Windows XP users, there is also a handy little wizard that integrates into Windows Explorer and allows you to publish a group of photos to Flickr straight from a directory. It can be found here, and some installation help is here.
Mac apps
Linux apps
Web-based methods
Alternatively, uploading photos via the web might be your cup of tea. If so, then you're in luck! You've got two options.
- If the photos in question are on your computer, then simply visit the photo upload page. Here you can upload photos in batches of up to 6 at a time.
- If, however, you already have the photos on another of your websites for example, then you can use this handy Send to Flickr bookmarklet. Follow that link and you will be presented with a bookmarklet which you can then drag and drop onto your web browser's toolbar, or into your favorites.
If, like us, you're stuck behind an over-zealous firewall, or maybe if you just prefer to email then you can email your photos straight into your Flickr photostream. Find information on how to do that here.
As you can see, there's no shortage of ways to get your pictures to Flickr. No excuses then, get uploading!
